Ragtime Wizardry is a collection of modern piano ragtime. The selections in this folio were commissioned by beloved ragtime supporter Danny Matson as part of a project to record and publish new works by 18 of today's top ragtime pianist-composers. The result is an entertaining and wonderfully diverse sampling of ragtime piano today. While some of the compositions are firmly rooted in the structure and harmonic language of Scott Joplin, Joseph Lamb, and their contemporaries, others draw inspiration from novelty piano, stride, tango, and other idioms. Each is infused with the distinct voice of its composer. From the bouncy folk-flavored "Sierra Nevada Rag" to the gentle syncopations of "Spanish Autumn" to the introspective "It Gets Better," as publisher John Stark might say, here is ragtime that is different! The 91-page spiral-bound folio opens flat for easy reading. A companion CD (sold separately) with recordings of the works by the composers themselves is also available.

Note: A digital download version is also available for this title in high-quality PDF format. Buyers selecting the digital download will receive a download link by e-mail upon completion of checkout.

Very functional, and lots of fun for little kids. Gentle enough for their skin, too.
Color: Frog&strawberry
These are so awesome. Two of them come in a box. There's a frog one and a strawberry one. They are inside individual zip lock bags inside the box. There's a scrubbie/loofa (not a natural one, just the plastic webbing type) on one side, and cloth-covered plushie/sponge on the other side that is the strawberry/frog. My granddaughter loves them. She can use them to clean and scrub herself, just like a big girl, but with a fun sponge/scrubby that she likes, so she always knows that there's a special one that is just hers. They absorb plenty of water and soap, and are good for cleaning their whole body. They are just the right size to fit in an adult hand, so a little big for solo use by a little hand, but there are plenty of bits to grab onto on either side, so it's not hard for a little kid to hang onto them. The loofah/scrubby side is well made, although it will become big and loose as those things always do if you pull on them too much. The sponge/toy side is very soft, and definitely gentle enough for a small child's skin. My only dislike is the small loop for hanging it on a hook in the shower. The little loop is just tiny and hard to separate, so it's difficult to get it onto a hook so it can hang and dry out in between uses. It would have been very easy to make the loop longer and more functional, so I'm not sure why they didn't. Other than that one, minor inconvenience, this is a great product.

Adorable scrubbie
Color: Turtle&bunny
Durable sponge made with quality material. Great value for price, soap lathers well and no signs of wear and tear after using for a month. Not too rough on the skin, plus you can’t beat the adorable turtle design

Super Cute! Stuffing Seems to Poke Out
Color: Frog&strawberry
These kids bath sponges are super cute! My daughter loves the strawberry one. It's soft, and well made, and doesn't irritate her skin. The size is just right for little hands, and they seem to be holding up well so far. One thing I noted is that some of the stuffing seemed to be poking out when I first opened it, but it came off easily and doesn't seem to be getting worse.

Great work on the recent history of strategic studies and strategy in practice.
Format: Kindle
While not perfect, certainly one of the best works on strategy I've read recently and possibly the best work on post-1945 strategic history I've read in a while. Two main flaws or issues of contention: Strachan's critique of civil-military relations is at times lucid, but at other times appears to come slightly off the rails. Second, the books origin as a (much altered and added too) collection of articles shows through in the many areas which it doubles back on itself covering ground previously well trodden, at times this is done to build on previously mentioned ideas, at other times it seems overly repetitive. On the whole it is an excellent assessment and critique of the recent history of Strategic Studies as a field, as a historian I find many of his disciplinary critiques of the history/IR balance quite convincing, but I suppose I'm biased.
