クロムエクセルは、ホーウィン社が製造しているオイルレザーで、有名ブランドのブーツや靴はもちろん、バッグ・財布・ベルト等にも多数使用されている世界的に有名な革です。
100年くらい前に開発された手法で原皮をじっくりとなめし、牛脂、蜜蝋、植物脂、魚脂など4種類以上の油脂をブレンドした、特製オイルを塗り込んで皮革にたっぷりと浸透させた、厚手のブルアップレザーです。
通常の何倍も時間をかけて、じっくりと油脂を染み込ませる事によって仕上げられた革は、油分が多くその独特の質感や重厚感、そして茶芯の革ならではの味わいが魅力的です。
