Appearance

Attractive bright polished copper with brilliant clarity, showcasing the rum's quality and maturation characteristic of this exceptional rhum vieux agricole from Marie-Galante, Guadeloupe, distilled in 2003 and bottled at cask strength with no filtration.

Aroma

Issues a prickle in the first inhalations presenting aromas of jelly bean, mocha and muted brown sugar. Aeration yields more in the way of crème caramel and golden syrup with the peppery undertones remaining, creating a complex aromatic profile that reflects the rum's cask strength maturation and agricole production method.

Palate

Palate is slightly harsh and bittersweet but agreeably balanced by a late sweetness in the form of marzipan, dark chocolate and chico lolly into the fade. The rum delivers concentrated flavours with wonderful depth and complexity, showcasing the distinctive characteristics of rhum vieux agricole aged for minimum three years.
