Done as a centennial piece to commemorate the 100 year anniversary of the United States of America. Print shows the raising of a liberty pole in a village center on a festive occasion with many spectators, some appear to be disgruntled loyalists; in the background, several men are removing a sign bearing the likeness of King George III. We also see the presence of the Sons of Liberty in the back right cheering on the event. In the forefront is a stand where men are signing up to join the army.
