Origin/Distribution: The species is native from Indiana to Louisiana, and west to Wisconsin, Iowa, and Oklahoma.

Habitat: The species is found in damper prairies, woodland edges, roadside ditches, stream banks, and low spots with a bit of moisture.

More: This cultivar blooms earlier and shorter than 'Henry Eilers' which gets up to 6' tall. Both are attractive to pollinators, have vanilla-scented leaves, are deer resistant, with a long bloom period, make a good cut flower, and are more perennial than other rudbeckias.
