Description:
The body as a measuring tool for planetary harm. A nervous system under increasing stress.
In this urgent collection that moves from the personal to the political and back again, writer, activist, and migrant Jessica Gaitan Johannesson explores how we respond to crises.
She draws parallels between an eating disorder and environmental neurosis, examines the perils of an activist movement built on non-parenthood, dissects the privilege of how we talk about hope, and more.
The synapses that spark between these essays connect essential narratives of response and responsibility, community and choice, belonging and bodies. They carry vital signals.
'The Nerves and Their Endings is a beautifully written, original collection of essays that explores identity, place, home, and hope. These essays ask how we might not only live in a time of climate collapse, but how we might work towards a better future also - one of community, shared understanding, and tenderness, even in the face of such terrible inequality, cruelty, loss, and disaster. This is a book that's truly necessary for our moment.'
-Rebecca Tamas, author of Strangers- essays on the human and nonhuman
'The Nerves and Their Endings is a deft, clear-eyed, and deeply felt essay collection that not only articulates the immense loss, complicity, and powerless felt in the capitalist West against the rising waters, but also the hope that enlivens good political writing always- the hope that when we look and think and move together - implicated, entangled - we grow the nerve to align in action. WORTH EVERY PENNY
Style: S-Level 2, Style: S-Level 2
I’m really happy with this interactive dog treat puzzle. It keeps my dog engaged, challenged, and excited, especially when he needs something to help burn off mental energy. The compartments are easy to fill with treats, and it was fun watching him figure out how to move everything around to get the rewards.
It seems well made and has held up nicely so far. I also like that it slows him down a bit and gives him something productive to focus on. This is a great option for keeping dogs entertained, reducing boredom, and giving them a little mental workout.
Overall, I would definitely recommend this to other dog owners looking for a fun and stimulating treat toy.

My Dog Likes It… But My Cat LOVES It!
Style: S-Level 2
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I originally bought this puzzle feeder for my dog, but surprisingly, my cat became obsessed with it! She has been using it since she was very young and figured it out incredibly fast.
I love that it turns treat time into a fun mental challenge. Instead of simply giving treats between meals, it encourages problem-solving, movement, and natural foraging behaviors. It’s a great way to provide enrichment, keep them entertained, and stimulate their minds while rewarding them at the same time.
The different compartments and sliding pieces keep things interesting, and it’s been durable enough to handle daily use. Watching my pets learn and interact with it is honestly one of my favorite things.
If you’re looking for a way to keep your dog or cat mentally engaged while offering treats in moderation, I highly recommend it!
🐾 A great enrichment toy that makes snack time more rewarding and interactive.

Durable interactive fun for You and your Dog
Style: S-Level 2
It’s it’s an interactive toy if your dog isn’t lazy like my little boy. He likes to play, but he wants me to show him where everything is. It’s very doable because he’s rough and tough and it was much more reasonable than some of the other interactive toys..

Fun dog product
Style: S-Level 2
When I first got this, I loaded up the compartments and set it down for the dog – excited and interested to see what she would do. She looked at it smelled it walked away. Disappointed – after a few hours – I put it under a table where she has a little rug, she likes to lay on. The next day I could hear the little doors on the toy rattling and she got every single little treat. And she loves it. And it’s fun when she decides she wants a little snack that she doesn’t have to ask or beg for she goes to her little toy and takes one of the treats out of the holes.
It surprises me she never tries to chew on it. And I haven’t figured out how to make it squeak yet, nor has the dog. But it’s something all for her and she loves it. And it cleans up easily too.
