À PROPOS DES FILMS: Adaptation de la saga Dai-bosatsu tôge du romancier Nakazato Kaizan, LE PASSAGE DU GRAND BOUDDHA est une trilogie tournée au début des années 1960 par Kenji Misumi, spécialiste du chambara qui livra notamment des opus de LA LÉGENDE DE ZATOÏCHI et de BABY CART.
LE PASSAGE DU GRAND BOUDDHA, ayant pour cadre le Japon médiéval, narre les aventures et exploits de Tsukue Ryunosuke, un maître du katana, samouraï sans morale dont le talent égale la cruauté. Au casting figurent bon nombre d’acteurs emblématiques de cette période, parmi lesquels Raizô Ichikawa (TUER), Kôjirô Hongô (LE RETOUR DE MAJIN), Tamao Nakamura (UNE HISTOIRE D’OSAKA) et Ryûzô Shimada (ZATOÏCHI, LE MASSEUR AVEUGLE).
Cette sortie de la trilogie LE PASSAGE DU GRAND BOUDDHA, restaurée en 4K, est l'occasion de rendre hommage au talent du réalisateur Kenji Misumi.

America's master poet

William Carlos Williams serves as a plumb line for writers. Keeping it clean & straight with a modern appreciation for the REAL. I read a Williams poem a day, something I will do throughout life. So much depends upon the truth enshrined in "All ideas in things"

Williams' poetry requires some bio, and Charles Tomlinson's introduction in this edition has proved helpful. also Wendell Berry has published a handsome critique in "William Carlos Williams of Rutherford" that helps to mitigate some of the ishiness that may result from reading Williams without understanding the man. that beins said, Williams speaks well to the listeners of the finical new millenium with a mind for the migrant-flux consequences of the coming century -stressing the "thing" and the "American idiom" with attention to detail and irrepressible imagination "flung outward and up-disappearing suddenly" (from "Strains" in Al Que Quiere)
