Details

Ferdinand Ries (1784-1838) was one of the greatest pianists of his time and a composer of exceptional abilities. Ries studied pianoforte (but not composition) with Beethoven in Vienna and the two men remained on cordial terms for the rest of their lives. In the last year of his life Ries co-wrote a book of Beethoven reminiscences that remain one of the most valuable sources of information about his life and character. Ries composed prolifically in many genres and unsurprisingly left an important body of works for pianoforte and orchestra. Ries's Swedish National Airs with Variations received its premiere in Stockholm on 14 March 1813 alongside the Piano Concerto in C minor, Op.55. The 'Swedish' Variations takes the form of a powerful, rhapsodic introduction followed by a loose series of variations based on three traditional melodies; Waggavisa (a cradle song), Skansk Bond Dans (a Scanish peasant dance) and Quarndansen (the 'Miller's Dance). The melodies are contrasted in key, tempo and metre and their individual variations also include changes in metre and tempo. The multi-thematic basis of the variations enables Ries to create a fluid and dynamic musical structure which affords him opportunities for both brilliant technical display and extended periods of highly expressive writing for the soloist. The orchestra is used very skillfully, not only in the accompaniment of the solo instrument but more impressively in the tutti sections which link or divide the variations. Allan Badley

Not a chew toy.
Color: Black & Lake Blue
The inside it a hard plastic, my dog can’t chew it. Plastic on the outside is very durable, my dog likes the noise it makes and will chase it but loses interest fast. I will not buy again.

Haru LOVES this toy!
I recently purchased the Amazon Basics Hide and Seek Squeaky Dog Plush Toy, Rabbit and Carrot 5 Pack, and it has been an absolute hit with my dog Haru! This set has quickly become his favorite playtime activity, and it's easy to see why. From the moment I introduced Haru to the plush toys, he was hooked! The rabbit and carrot design is not only adorable but also adds an element of excitement and curiosity for him. The toys' quality is impressive, with sturdy stitching that has held up well to Haru's enthusiastic play style. The "hide and seek" aspect of the toys is brilliant. Each plush toy contains squeakers, which immediately captured Haru's attention. He thoroughly enjoys searching for the source of the squeaky sound and then triumphantly "catching" the rabbit or carrot. It's like a mini-game that keeps him mentally stimulated and entertained. One of the best things about this 5-pack set is the variety it offers. Haru never gets bored because he can alternate between the different plush toys, and each one presents a new challenge for him. Whether he's "hunting" the rabbit or "nibbling" on the carrot, his excitement is contagious! Furthermore, I appreciate how these toys keep Haru engaged for a good amount of time. As a busy dog owner, it's essential to have toys that can entertain him while I'm occupied with other tasks. The Hide and Seek Squeaky Dog Plush Toy accomplishes this perfectly, giving me some peace of mind knowing Haru is happily occupied.

Great toy
Great size for a medium to large dog and a good value overall. The carrot foliage is made of felt and can tear easily, but the carrot body and bunnies have typical toy durability. The bunnies include squeakers that are softer and not high-pitched. The holes are sized well—small enough that the bunnies don’t fall out on their own. Even with only a few stuffed inside, they stay put until your dog pulls them out.
