Recently, Berlin rap icons KIZ gave it a nod with the title of their latest album – a collection of deeply personal and at times harrowing childhood memories from growing up near the park.

For Jenikae, the “Görli“ has a special meaning, too, as he used to live in the surrounding Wrangelkiez area in Berlin. The idea for this painting came to him when he was taking in the painting “Paysage au disque” by Robert Delaunay at Centre Pompidou, which captures a similar energy of recreation amidst bustling urban energy.
