Known as a workhorse guitar, this Gibson J-45 Standard Rosewood is a new iteration of an instrument with a long, proud history. Introduced by Gibson in 1942 as a replacement for the budget-friendly J-35 from the Great Depression era, the J-45 marked a standardization of Gibson's dreadnought guitar design, and been continually developed to meet the standards of modern players. 

The Gibson J-45 Standard Rosewood features a Sitka spruce top with a stunning Rosewood Burst finish, and a rosewood back and sides with a natural finish to contrast that of the top. A multi-ply top binding surrounds the perimeter of its jumbo-sized body, which has become known for its natural projection due to its size. 

Though the original J-45s were known for having meaty necks, this one features a more modern Gibson favorite, the SlimTaper shape. This neck is topped with a fingerboard made of Indian rosewood, divided by 20 total frets, 14 of which are accessible before the neck and body meet. Between frets, Mother-of-Pearl dot inlays guide the way for precise finger placement. 

This Rosewood Burst-finished beauty comes stocked with an L.R. Baggs VTC under-saddle pickup and preamp system that offers hi-fi translation of the nuaced sound of this guitar in a plugged-in setting. The pickup is controlled by soundhole-mounted volume and tone controls. 

Hardware features include a reverse-belly bridge made of rosewood, a TUSQ nut, and gold plated Grover Rotomatic tuning machines. This guitar comes complete with a Gibson hard case.
