Montana CRACKLE EFFECT Spray offers a unique crackle effect, perfect for achieving vintage or distressed looks. Ideal for use on any art, hobby, or DIY project, it brings a creative edge to your work. Whether you're revamping furniture, creating artwork, or adding texture to decorations, this spray delivers standout results.
A prior base coat is essential for the crackle effect to work. We recommend using Montana GOLD or Montana WHITE as the base. The thicker the base coat, the more pronounced the crackle effect will be. Allow the base coat to dry for at least 45 minutes, but no more than 24 hours, before applying the CRACKLE EFFECT (drying time may vary depending on temperature, humidity, and coat thickness). For best results, apply the spray in cross-coating motions (left to right, then up and down). Once applied, the cracking process begins, revealing the unique crackle pattern.
Montana CRACKLE EFFECT offers high coverage and can be top-coated with Montana GOLD, Montana BLACK, Montana WHITE, Montana ACRYLIC markers, or other customary acrylic paints once fully dry and cured (after 24 hours). If applying on polystyrene, pre-priming with Montana Styrofoam Primer is required—be sure to seal the surface completely. The color of the spray is indicated by the color "donut" on top of the can.
USE: Optimal application temperature is between +10°C and +25°C. Protect your workspace from spray mist and ensure surfaces are dry, clean, and free of dust, oils, and rust. Shake the can thoroughly for 2-3 minutes, holding it upside down to utilize gravity. Before use, remove the lid or safety ring under the nozzle and turning the can upside down to allow it to fall out. For more intense crackling effects, apply a second layer after 5 minutes. Always test spray on an inconspicuous area to ensure compatibility with the surface.
