The Marshall CODE50 digital combo amplifier is a flexible 50-watt platform engineered for players who want extensive tonal control without hauling a rack system. At its core, the CODE50 leverages Marshall’s proprietary MST (Marshall Softube Technology) modeling architecture to emulate decades of amplifier and cabinet evolution, while maintaining the immediacy of a straightforward combo layout.
The preamp and power sections are fully digital, allowing users to combine 14 modeled preamps—including staples like the JCM800 2203, Silver Jubilee 2555, JVM410H, and the vintage Bluesbreaker 1962—with four distinct power amp types and eight speaker cabinet simulations. These combinations can be stored across presets and recalled instantly, making the CODE50 as comfortable on stage as it is in a bedroom studio. The 1x12" custom-voiced speaker is tuned to reproduce this range of sounds with clarity and punch.
A suite of 24 onboard effects includes modulation (phaser, chorus, tremolo), time-based effects (multiple delay types with tap tempo), pitch shifting, auto-wah, and reverbs ranging from spring to studio-quality ambient washes. Up to five effects can be used simultaneously, allowing for complex signal chains without external pedals.
Connectivity includes USB for direct recording or DAW interfacing, Bluetooth support for audio streaming and remote editing via the Marshall Gateway app, and a headphone jack for silent practice. A footswitch can be connected (not included) for hands-free preset control, though most functions are easily accessed from the top panel interface.
