The Fender Standard Stratocaster HSS expands the tonal capabilities of the classic Strat design, combining single-coil clarity with the thicker, more aggressive response of a humbucker in the bridge position. This configuration offers a wide range of tones, from sparkling cleans to powerful overdriven leads, making it a versatile choice for players across different musical styles.
The poplar body provides a resonant and balanced tonal foundation, while its contoured shape ensures comfortable playability. A bolt-on maple neck with a Modern C profile offers a smooth feel, and the Indian laurel fingerboard, with a 9.5-inch radius and 21 medium jumbo frets, allows for precise note articulation. Cast/sealed tuning machines keep tuning stable, while the Micarta nut helps improve sustain and resonance.
This model features a standard humbucker in the bridge position, allowing for a fuller, warmer tone suited for high-gain settings, while the two Fender Standard single-coil Strat pickups in the middle and neck positions retain the bright, crisp character associated with the Stratocaster. A five-way pickup selector switch and independent tone controls for the neck and middle pickups provide fine-tuned sound adjustments. The two-point synchronized tremolo bridge with chrome steel block saddles ensures expressive pitch control and reliable intonation.
