Topping charts and touring the globe since their inception in 2012, Greta Van Fleet has quickly cemented themselves within modern rock history, pioneering a new wave of throwback tones that define them as a lasting contributor to classic rock flavor. The group's guitarist, Jake Kiszka, has teamed up with Gibson to share a rendition of his beloved '61 instrument with a limited-edition SG Standard electric guitar in Faded Vintage Cherry—a beautiful homage to a modified piece of history that exudes vintage character both sonically and aesthetically.

Signifying a legacy of rock music history, this iconic double cutaway SG silhouette is forged from mahogany and treated with a Faded Vintage Cherry gloss nitrocellulose lacquer finish to support the vintage looks that match the eternally ripping tones. The body is adorned with the modifications that Kiszka flaunts on his own 1961 SG, like the washer under the repaired output jack, and the immobilized sideways Vibrola cover—an aesthetic touch that serves for style over functionality, but could in fact lead to some metallic resonance to those who wish to hear it. Affixed with an ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge feeding into a covered Stop Bar tailpiece, this SG is in full control over its supreme intonation with ideal string spacing.

Leading up the guitar, Gibson and Kiszka offer a SlimTaper profiled mahogany set neck, inviting expressive, comfortable playing across the smooth 24.75" scale length. Topping that neck is a rosewood fingerboard lined with 22 medium jumbo sized frets, guided by acrylic trapezoidal inlays to supply that unmistakable SG signature aesthetic. Found on the headstock is the period accurate "Les Paul" truss rod cover, Gibson logo detailing, and Gibson Deluxe tuning machines to keep pitches consistent when ripping leads—originals or Greta Van Fleet covers.

Jake Kiszka's legendary tone projects from this SG Standard via Gibson's T-Type humbucker pickups—Rhythm variant found in the neck and Lead variant found in the bridge—to deliver articulate, searing highs with a crushing, weighted punch that sounds like it was lifted straight from a GVF recording. Each pickup is controllable by independent volume and tone knobs for precise adjustments, and position assignable by means of the 3-way pickup selector, allowing for quick changes between rhythm and lead tones with just a solo's notice.

Good
Format: Paperback
Not as impactful as its predecessor, but still an enjoyable novel. The concepts tackled here are more new adult, though still plenty of young adult to go around.

Beautiful
Format: Paperback
Not as I expected, I kinda was hoping for more of a storyline connected to the first book, or even a pt2, but nonetheless still such a beautiful book filled with love and I definitely say it’s worth reading and adding to your collection ! Just to clarify it does included the old characters but mainly not till the end, and only for a few chapters. Still so wonderful !

I wanted more
Format: Kindle
This one fell a little flat. The ending felt rushed after so much build up. I still am happy to have read it and to learn more about the LGBTQIA experience - even if fictional.
