Persian-American composer and producer ASADI dexterously blends traditional sounds with contemporary production techniques, crafting lithe melodies using the Persian tar, setar, oud, saz, and tanbur that glide atop undulating, earth-shaking bass and snaking trap beats, with instruments weaving around each other in a carefully choreographed dance. ASADI's compositions are bolstered by collaborators including master players of Persian instruments: percussionist Naghib Shanbehzadeh's rhythmic flourishes provide the perfect counterpoint to ASADI's electronic beats and Daf drums, while Shaho Andalibi's Persian Ney lines add a heady dose of mystic energy.
