The Maxon DS830 Distortion Master has simple controls but is considered highly versatile, maintaining transparency even when generating massive amounts of gain. The gain section combines classic 808 clipping with diodes to ground, similar to the Pro Co RAT. A two-band EQ in the form of Bass and Treble controls allows for frequency shaping. The Distortion Master can also be used with bass guitars as well as standard electric guitars.
