Its color is a soft tan to peachy light brown color with subtle darker brown streaks of mineralization. The wood grain has a pleasant and gracefully flowing pattern. Pecan Bowl Blank P-470 3.5" x 6.5" x 8" 4.5 lbs. This is an attractive half-log bowl blank of Texas-grown Pecan wood. Its color is a soft tan to peachy light brown color with subtle darker-brown streaks of mineralization. The wood grain has a pleasant and gracefully flowing pattern. It has full and well-attached bark on the back side. There are extensive tunnels of a wood borer in an interesting pattern. This feature will likely need epoxy stabilization if you want to preserve it or highlight it in your finished turning. This half-log bowl blank should be suitable for a bowl up to 8" in diameter and 3" deep. With the bark on the backside, you have the option of turning a conventional bowl or a "barky" natural-edge bowl. However, if you want a full bark edge on the "natural" rim, you will need to secure the bark with CA glue before and possibly during turning. This piece is GREEN to partially air-dried, meaning that it still retains a lot of its original moisture from when it was a living tree. Moisture content was 20-25% when measured in May, 2022. It has been well-sealed and is in the process of slowly drying. It was heat-treated to kill off any hungry critters that may have been burrowing inside. If you need a current moisture content, please message us and we'll check its status for you. This is a classic half-log blank, split through the center of the log. There is no pith present in the block. I'm taking plenty of photos of this piece, so please scroll down below the first 3 photos to see more. About the Tree This Texas-grown Pecan tree was harvested in Fresno Texas in December, 2021. It was in a residential neighborhood where it had been planted near a home that was built in the 1930s. Over the years, the small Pecan tree grew large, and it threatened the house. The homeowners reluctantly called their tree company to cut down the tree and stack the wood for us to recover. We're always happy to save wood from the firepit or city dump. Their trash is now yours to treasure! |

These work well!
These work to keep my mouth moist for hours. The only downside is the glue stays in your mouth till you can scrape it out with your finger. I thought it would dissolve but it didn’t. Very grateful to find something that moistens my mouth for so long though. They’re easy to use too. Taste slightly sweet but otherwise I didn’t notice anything.

Xylimelts Sensitive
I was sensitive to the regular Xylimelts after a few months use. Painful gums and hives inside my lips and cheeks. The sensitive version immediately corrected the problem and I’ve been using them without issue for nearly a year. The product is a lifesaver for drymouth that occurred when I was sleeping.

Best that I have found for dry mouth.
These are the best for dry mouth at night. They mostly stay stuck. I say mostly because I have had a few come apart. I think that was my fault.

Much better than the box version
Flavor Name: Mint, Size: 230 Count (Pack of 1)
This works really well to wet the mouth if you have an autoimmune condition. It lasts all night if you use two, one on each side. They attach securely to the gums. Doesn’t feel bulky in the mouth. Nice and smooth against the cheek.
I get the mild mint flavor which tastes good. It is flavored with xylitol which the dentist says will not rot my teeth like sugar would so I use it every day. The fact that it is sugar free really helps.
I used to get the boxes that have each lozenge in a blister pack. But I’d often buy 6 boxes and then only get 2.
But this has the same amount in a bottle, and they stay in good condition. Turns out the blister pack is not necessary. And this way it is all in one so no more delivery issues!

These tablets work great for those who suffer with dry mouth at night. They stay put and deliver a slow and easy release to help keep your mouth from being dry.
